Wide Turquoise and Orange Spiny Oyster Cuff Bracelet

This handmade Telly John piece is an attention getter.  The Navajo artist use a large orange spiny oyster  centerpiece and surrounds it with 10 turquoise stones in a radiating pattern.  The warmth of the orange and the cool turquoise work wonderfully together.  The band is made completely of Sterling Silver hand stamped in traditional Navajo designs.  Spiny Oyster is a shell primarily found in the warm waters of the Sea of Cortez, off the coast of Baja California.  Only the inside edge of the shell develops this deep color, while the rest remains white, making it even harder to create larger spiny oyster jewelry pieces.
