Tiny Tiger's Eye Crystal Skull

This Tiger's Eye skull was hand-carved in Brazil. Tiger's eye, a member of the quartz family, has a fibrous structure with inclusions of crocidolite (blue asbestos) that causes a "cat's eye" effect called chatoyancy.  This effect is best seen when the stones are cut and polished.  It is thought to be helpful in lifting depression and promoting concentration.  Tiger's eye is mined primarily in South Africa, Western Australia, India and the United States.
