Spiny Oyster Squash Blossom Necklace with Earrings
Sorry, currently out of stock
This authentic Spiny Oyster Shell Navajo Squash Blossom Necklace is the perfect size. It’s much smaller and lighter than a full size Squash Blossom Necklace and has plenty of sterling silver chain to adjust the length. 20 free form pieces of fiery spiny oyster shell are bezel set and end in a handmade sterling silver “blossom”. The bottom horseshoe shaped piece is called a Naja and is a good luck symbol borrowed from the Moors’ culture of Spain. Spiny Oyster is found deep in the waters of the Sea of Cortez. Native Americans once walked from the American Southwest to the Baja Peninsula to trade Turquoise for this bright colored shell. Matching earrings are included. Handmade by a Navajo silversmith in New Mexico.
Hallmarked “M” and stamped “Sterling”.
