Santo Domingo Three Strand Heishi Necklace

The Santo Domingo Pueblo is located near Santa Fe, New Mexico.  Santo Domingo artisans have been creating heishi (hee-shee) beads for over 1,000 years. Heishi beads are discs of shell or turquoise that have been ground into smooth barrel shapes, then drilled and strung to create beautiful, smooth flexible tubes of stones.  Santo Domingo heishi is world renowned for its fineness in materials and workmanship.
