Peruvian Pyrite Sphere

Pyrite is an iron sulfide mineral. It’s crystal patterns are cubic, pyritohedral, or octahedral. The name pyrite is derived from the Greek word for fire. Pyrite’s shiny metallic appearance has earned it the nickname “fool’s gold.”  The ancient Incas used Pyrite as mirrors. It is found all over the world, but important deposits are in Italy, Spain, and Peru. Pyrite is said to enhance willpower, helping one to overcome bad habits.

The sphere as a shape is an ancient and universal symbol that represents unity, completeness, and infinity - the whole universe. Unlike the focused energy of a wand or point, the sphere shape emits energy in all directions equally. It represents unity, completeness, and infinity - the whole universe. Every crevice of this beautiful sphere is filled with sparkling pyrite crystals. This is a very special specimen.
