Morenci Turquoise Teardrop Stamped Pendant
A Navajo artist created a frame of five hand-stamped sterling silver fans arranged around this beautiful teardrop of Morenci Turquoise. Mined in southeastern Arizona, Morenci Turquoise is usually high to light blue in color. This stone has an unusual matrix of brown and rust colors. It was one of the first American turquoises to come on the market. It is very difficult to obtain now because the mine is depleted. Morenci is considered a collectible turquoise. The pendant is finished with a lovely domed bail at the top which can be worn with a beaded necklace or chain. The silver has been oxidized to bring out the stamping.
