This authentic Larimar Navajo Squash Blossom Necklace is the perfect size. It’s much smaller and lighter than a full size Squash Blossom Necklace and has plenty of sterling silver chain to adjust the length. 20 free form pieces of soft blue Larimar from the Dominican Republic are bezel set and endsin a handmade sterling silver “blossom”. The bottom horseshoe shaped piece is called a Naja and is a good luck symbol borrowed from the Moors’ culture of Spain. Larimar is a rare stone mined only in the Dominican Republic where it was thought to be from the Lost City of Atlantis. It actually comes from a volcanic deposit on the island. The discoverer of this stone named it for his daughter, Larissa, and mar meaning sea in Spanish. Matching earrings are included. Handmade by Navajo silversmith, Ted Secatero in New Mexico.
