Children's Pearl Necklace

This Children's Pearl Necklace is timeless.  Each genuine pearl is approximately 4mm. It is finished with a secure sterling silver spring clasp. The chain extender allows for some adjustment. An organic gem, pearls are formed inside mollusks such as oysters and mussels. They are formed when an irritant such as a tiny stone or bit of sand gets inside the shell.  A lustrous substance, called nacre, is secreted around the object to protect the mollusk. As these layers coat the irritant, a pearl is formed.  This process can take up to seven or eight years.

Metaphysically, cultured and freshwater pearls are believed to offer the power of love, money, protection, and luck.  Pearls are thought to give wisdom through experience, to quicken the laws of karma and to cement engagements and love relationships.
