Rose Quartz is one of the most desired forms of quartz. This Brazilian Rose Quartz specimen has been cut and polished into a beautiful flame. The pink color usually comes from iron or titanium impurities. According to legend, Eros (Cupid) brought Rose Quartz to the earth in hopes that its color would arouse love and desire among people. Rose Quartz was used by the Asssyrians as early as 800-600 B.C. and in later times it was popular with the Romans. It is mostly mined in Brazil, Madagascar, Russia, Austria, Spain, Scotland, and Colorado in the United States. Rose quartz is the stone most associated with affairs of the heart, and is thought to bring love to the wearer and promote harmonious relationships.
