Rose Quartz is one of the most desired forms of quartz.  The pink color usually comes from iron or titanium impurities.  According to legend Eros (Cupid) brought rose quartz to the earth in the hope that its color would arouse love and desire among people.  Through archaeology we learn that Rose Quartz was used by the Assyrians as early as 800-600 B.C. and in later times it was popular with the Romans.  Rose Quartz is the stone most associated with affairs of the heart, and is thought to bring love to the wearer.  It is mostly mined in Brazil, Madagascar, Russia, Austria, Spain, Scotland, and Colorado in the United States.

Other cultures besides the Egyptians see meaning in the shape of the pyramid.  The shape itself is very strong, being primarily made of stable triangles, and it has itself become a symbol of stability.  An inverted pyramid symbolized spiritual development, as an individual became more aware of the broadness and fullness of life and spirituality.  Mathematicians and alchemists find significance in the ratios of the height to the base or the lengths of the diagonals, and they can use the pyramid to solve the problem of "squaring the circle."  Other people see the four sides as representing the four elements (wind, fire, air, and water) converging to a single point.
