Medium Hematite Crystal Skull

Hematite is an iron oxide mineral with a hardness of 5-6. It is 70% iron and is mined in England, Mexico, Brazil, Australia and US. Its name derives from the Greek haimatitis or ‘blood red’ referring to its color in powdered form. The word hemoglobin (the iron in blood causing a red color) shares the same root word with hematite. Because of its high iron content hematite will carry a magnetic charge when heated at low temperatures.

A crystal skull is a model of a human skull generally carved out of quartz crystal and other stones regarded as metaphysically powerful.  A crystal skull is a metaphor for the belief that reality is a consciousness hologram through which we "virtually" experience life.   They vary in size from a few inches to the size of a human head, or bigger.  Crystal skulls are most often associated with ancient Mesoamerican cultures.

Humanity has always been on an esoteric journey to solve the mysteries of its creation linked to people and objects that allegedly contain higher powers.  We want to know who we are and why we are here.

Whether you consider crystal skulls metaphysically powerful or just beautiful pieces of art, they are always interesting and not associated with death or witchcraft.
